Copyeditor for Wind in the Wilds, Hoarfrost Mysteries Book 3 (partial manuscript), following Chicago Style. Genre: historical fantasy fiction. I created a style sheet for the author. We collaborated in Word using Track Changes.

Hard Copy Proofreading

Hard copy proofreading (markup on printed galley proof) is done after the copyedit and before the manuscript is laid out in publication format. Only editors and publishers are expected to know what these marks and symbols mean. Many traditional publishers still ask proofreaders to make hard copy markups such as my sample below:
